KUCHING: Three Sarawakian MPs from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and eight other colleagues had quit both the party and Pakatan Harapan (PH) to form an independent block in Parliament.
A statement released yesterday said PKR deputy president, who is also Gombak MP, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, was among them.
The three Sarawakians are PKR liaison chief cum Selangau MP Baru Bian, Saratok MP Ali Biju and Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin.
The others (beside Azmin) are Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin, Indera Mahkota MP Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, Bandar Tun Razak MP Datuk Kamaruddin Jaffar, Nibong Tebal MP Datuk Mansor Othman, Batu Pahat MP Datuk Rashid Hasnon, Segamat MP Datuk Seri Dr Santhara Kumar and Ranau MP Jonathan Yasin.
Willie, in his Facebook posting, apologised to his voters, saying the PH government had collapsed…because all Bersatu (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) had left.
“I hope you find the best way for us to be together for the sake of the nation and its people. I have no other choice but to choose what is for your prosperity and wellbeing,” he said.
New Sarawak Tribune found that most of the netizens who responded to his posting have expressed disappointment. They want to know why Willie made such a move and they suggested that he should stick to his president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
