MIRI: It was a busy Saturday night for the Pujut Resident Committee (RC) patrol team as they made three arrests on the grounds of drug abuse.
Three local men in their 20s and 30s were detained and have been handed over to the National Anti-Drugs Agency (Nada) Miri branch for further investigation.
Two of the male suspects were detained while they were inside a car with their girlfriends when the RC Pujut patrol team approached their car at Marina Park at 9.30pm.
According to Miri RC chairman Malateh Mahmud who led the patrol team, the suspects admitted vaping ganja (marijuana) prior to the arrest.
In another arrest at 11.30pm in Pujut 1, the same team picked up a 22-year-old man who was acting suspiciously, wandering around the nearby residential area.
When approached by the team, he confessed that he had taken drugs.
