KUCHING: Three locals, including a woman, sustained injuries after their cars overturned in separate early morning accidents today (Oct 27).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the emergency calls came in at 3.28am in Kuching and 4.15am in Bintulu.
In Kuching, firefighters from Batu Lintang station were dispatched to Jalan Penrissen, Mile 7, where a Perodua Kancil had overturned.
The driver had already been rescued by bystanders and received initial treatment on-site before being taken to Sarawak General Hospital.
Meanwhile, in Bintulu, firefighters from Bintulu station responded to an overturned Proton Saga along Jalan Samalaju.
Upon arrival, they found the driver and his female passenger trapped inside, and extrication works were performed.
Both injured victims were later taken to Nyabau Hospital for medical treatment.
The identities and full extent of the victims’ injuries were not immediately known.
Firefighters conducted flushing works to clear accident debris at both scenes before ending their operations at 4.03am in Kuching and 5.50am in Bintulu.
