SIBU: The three-day Jelajah Ramadan Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Sarawak wrapped up here Sunday (March 24).

According to Sarawak RTM Director Wan Azhan Wan Hamat, the programme which started on March 21 was its 12th edition.

“However, this year we organised it differently from the previous year; we assembled all the radio announcers, reporters, and others in one location, which is Sibu.

“Previously, during Jelajah Ramadan, we ‘jelajah’ (visited) from one RTM station to another across Sarawak, which actually involved high expenses. With this method, we can focus on one location instead,” he said.

He said this during a breaking of fast cum appreciation dinner organised by Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros) at a hotel here Sunday night (March 24).

Several programmes were organised by RTM Sarawak in conjunction with its Jelajah Ramadan 2024; among them being a bubur lambuk distribution to the public, delivering food baskets to the needy, breaking of fast with asnaf, and more.

Meanwhile, 40 people from various agencies participated in the breaking of fast programme organised by Petros.

According to its Head of External Relations, Sally Sheriza Ahmad, those who attended the programme were those who made the Siney-Siney Petros with RTM Sarawak programme a success.

“Siney-siney Petros with RTM Sarawak is a one-day programme. Since morning, we came together to prepare 1,000 bubur asyura for the public. We packed it and distributed it. So tonight is an appreciation for all of them,” she said.
