BINTULU:  Lifestyle shopping mall, The Spring Bintulu recently hosted an Iftar (breaking of fast) event for 74 children from the Bintulu Orphanage Complex on Wednesday (April 20).

The event held at tHe Spring shopping complex was attended by Tanjong Batu assemblyman, Johnny Pang Leong Ming, marketing manager of tHe Spring Bintulu, Ivy Chai, and branch manager of Tong Seng Huat (Bintulu) Sdn Bhd, Tan Song Lin.

During the event, each orphaned child were presented with “duit raya” (Eid monetary gifts) courtesy of tHe Spring along with food baskets containing rice, wheat flour, and sugar contributed by wholesaler, Tong Seng Huat (Bintulu) Sdn. Bhd.

State assemblyman (ADUN) for Tanjong Batu, Johnny Pang, Ivy Chai and Tan Song Lin presented the donations to the children. A total of 90 food baskets were distributed to orphaned children, including staff members of the Bintulu Orphanage Complex.

In his speech, Pang expressed hope that good deeds such as these could serve as an example to the communities at large, to voluntarily provide assistance to non-governmental organisation such as orphanage, hence ensuring the well-being of the orphaned children.

This gesture marked the third time tHe Spring Bintulu has organized the event.
