KUCHING: Legendary Singaporean rock band Sweet Charity ignited the stage at the inaugural “Rock In The Jungle” (RITJ) 2024 concert here on Saturday night, thrilling fans with their timeless anthems.
Led by the charismatic Datuk Ramli Sarip, accompanied by Rahman Sarbani on drums, Rosli Mohalim on guitar, and Ahmad Jaafar on keyboards and backing vocals, the band proved their enduring appeal, captivating an audience of approximately 4,000 at Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV).
Adding to the electrifying atmosphere, Man Kidal, the legendary guitarist from Lefthanded, joined the band onstage for unforgettable renditions of “Sejuta Wajah” and “Hilang Gelap Terbitlah Terang,” sending the crowd into frenzy.
Crowd favourites such as ‘Zakiah,’ ‘Ribut,’ ‘Teratai,’ and ‘Kamelia’ lit up the night, leaving fans of all ages enthralled.

“Papa Rock,” as Ramli is affectionately known, captivated the crowd with his energetic stage presence and remarkable stamina, defying his 71 years.
Meanwhile, iconic Malaysian rock band XPDC Militia delivered a spirited performance, featuring Zul Fazli—popularly known as Mamu — as their new lead vocalist, replacing Ali.
