By MAYA GREEN
I sit here by the sea shore
On the edge of an endless ocean
The view is as far as I can see
The tides beginning to roll in now
Certainly, there is a coming in and going out
I sit here by the ocean
Trying to decipher the message of it all
I need to be patient, keeping to the pace
Yes, the message of the ocean
It will come, with patience, it’ll surely come
The ocean is a symbol, one of stability
For it has existed for ages
And the ocean is considered boundless
A place where one can easily be lost
A metaphor for life, a source of lessons
Yes, this life is like an ocean, boundless
A metaphor for the boundless span of life
And the message is: one can get lost
As one navigates the journey of this life
So be aware, and be on guard always
The lone fisherman hoping for a catch
At this early hour of the morning, he toils
I watched him for a while and, I saw
Indeed, he did have had a decent catch
Yes, it will come — to those who are patient
