KUCHING: The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) Sarawak thanked the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)-led state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for giving a RM500 one-off incentive to federal civil servants.
The incentive was announced during the tabling of the 2021 State Budget last year.
Cuepacs Sarawak chairman Ahmad Malie, yesterday said that the incentive which benefited 110,000 federal civil servants was to be paid together with their April salary.
“The union would like to offer its gratitude for the incentive as this proves that the state government appreciates and cares for the wellbeing of the federal civil servants serving in Sarawak.
“This is the second time that the GPS-led state government has given out the incentive which was first announced in the 2020 State Budget and therefore, Cuepacs Sarawak would like to express its appreciation to it.
“The union hopes that this incentive will motivate the civil servants to enhance the public service delivery,” he said.
