KUCHING: Some 3,000 RTK test kits and 24 units of oximeter were given to eight charities here.
“Hari Raya Aidilfitri is coming soon. We should not forget those who are less fortunate,” he said during the presentation of the donations at AIA, Milan Square here on Wednesday (April 20).
“Communities in Kuching are kind and known for giving donations, privately and publicly, therefore I hope that this continues.”
Meanwhile, a representative for Kuching Rotary Club, Ngo Sie Haw, explained that most of the NGOs lacked the funds to buy test kits, oximeters and others for their communities.
“Therefore, we are honoured to hand over the test kits, oximeters and 80 units of N94 and N95 face masks to the NGOs in Kuching, and the aid is expected to benefit at least 700 people.”
The eight charities that received the donations were Salvation Army Boys Home, Salvation Army Girls Home, Pusat Jagaan Nur Murni, Red Crescent Kuching, Persatuan Orang Buta Sarawak, Persatuan Cerebral Palsy, SOS Kids, and Kuching Autistic Association.
