LIMBANG: A man sustained burn injuries on his neck in a fire incident that destroyed two wooden houses in Kampung Limpaong here, early on Tuesday.
The victim has been sent to Limbang Hospital for further treatment.
The blaze resulted in 10 occupants of the two houses homeless.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre (PGO) said a distress call on the incident was received at 1.26 am yesterday.
A team of firemen from Limbang station with one fire engine and two Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) units were rushed to the fire scene located about 3km away from the fire station.
By the time the firemen arrived, one of the houses was totally burned while the other was partially damaged.
The firemen managed to put out the blaze and prevented the fire from spreading to other properties at 3.24am.
The cause of the fire and loss to properties are yet to be ascertained.
