KUCHING: Temporary occupation licence (TOL) owners have been urged to not use their license for financial gains.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the state government reduced the price for TOL premium residential lot to RM2,500 as an initiative to ease financial burden of the low-income group.

“The state government has introduced another option to help the low-income group to pay their residential lot via installment,” he said in a statement issued today (Mar 2).

He also said land compensations totalling RM668,225.40 to 18 recipients whose lands were acquired for the construction of a road from Punang to Kampung Sungai Bangat had been calculated based on appropriate methods including the current value of the land.

“The construction of the road from Punang to Kampung Sungai Bangat by the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA), which costs about RM7.8 million, will spur the economic growth of the area,” he added.
