BINTULU: The telecommunication service system in rural areas throughout the country will continue to be improved and upgraded.
Communication and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo said in order to realise this, he will personally ‘turun padang’ (go to the ground) from time to time especially in rural areas across the country, including in Sabah and Sarawak, to ensure the people enjoy fast telecommunication services in the future.
“I feel that communication development is an urgent need for people in the rural areas because it is the only necessary service especially in relation to emergency situations,” he said during a visit to the longhouse of Henry Nuni Plen in Sungai Gelam, Ulu Sebauh, yesterday night.
His visit was part of the National-level Gawai Dayak celebration event held in Bintulu.
