SERIAN: A teenage boy died, and his younger brother was injured in a motorcycle crash along KM84, Jalan Kuching-Sri Aman, yesterday.
In a statement, Serian police chief DSP Neil Beginda said the accident occurred at 2.50 pm as the brothers were travelling from Sri Aman to Kuching.
Preliminary investigations revealed that their motorcycle veered out of control and crashed into a road divider, throwing both riders onto the roadside.
“As a result, the older brother, identified as 17-year-old Jarren Lim Zhi Hung, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics due to severe head injuries. His body was later taken to Serian Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said.
Meanwhile, his 13-year-old brother was rushed to the hospital for further medical treatment. The severity of his injuries has not been disclosed.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
