KUCHING: Technology plays a crucial role in advancing Islamic art, not just academically but also in engaging the wider Muslim community.
Dr Rahah Hasan, a lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak’s (UNIMAS) Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts, hoped that relevant parties would support the development of Islamic art through funding and other initiatives.
Curated by her, this is the first-ever exhibition of its kind.
“It aims to bring artists together and foster greater public appreciation for Islamic art,” she told a press conference after the launch of the Islamic Art Exhibition at Majma Mall on Monday.
“We encourage everyone, from academics and students to the general public, to visit.”
“This exhibition transcends religious boundaries, offering a platform for all to engage with creative arts,” she added.
The exhibition, officiated by Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Datuk Hilmy Othman, will run until January 20.
