KUCHING: The younger generation should be focusing more on technological and language skills, said Sarawak Education, Science and Technological Research Assistant Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee.
“I feel sorry for the young kids nowadays as they have to learn more subjects, and recently, the proposal for khat by the Education Minister,” he said when officiating at HERE’s True Car technology exhibition yesterday.
He personally felt that he had much to learn when it comes to digital technology.
“It is not easy to keep catching up with modern technology as there are many new terms that I have never heard of before when I was a student.
“Therefore, getting the younger generation to focus on learning the language of technology is very much needed,” he stressed.
He was also pleased with Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s vision to emphasise on digital economy in Sarawak.
“Even though we think it may not benefit us immediately, that is the future and everyone should adapt, especially the younger generation.”
Dr Annuar hoped that the khat issue would be resolved immediately and he urged the government to look into a better future for the people.
