TATAU: A total of 43 doors of longhouses in the Tatau district here have received the loan facility of Longhouse Loan Scheme (SPPRP) amounting to RM30,000 per door.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) in a news report, political secretary to the Sarawak Premier Edwin Banta said of the 43 doors, 15 doors comprised residents of Rumah Jelia Jelema, Lubok Menggeris and another 28 doors were from Rumah Tedung Jambu, Jalan Sangan Merit.

“The Sarawak government’s initiative to introduce the SPPRP gives the people of this state the opportunity to apply for the loan to build their new longhouse.

“With loans like this, we will be able to provide relief to residents to build their houses by providing loan scheme facilities with low repayments,” he said.

He said this when handing over the SPPRP offer letter to the residents of the two longhouses here, recently.

Edwin added that, through this facility, residents who receive assistance from this scheme only need to pay instalments of RM100 for a period of 25 years.
