KUCHING: The Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday received visitors at the Astana.
The first group to call on His Excellency was a delegation from Affin Bank Group led by its Chairman, General Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr) Mohd Zahidi Haji Zainuddin (Retired).
The purpose of the visit was to update Taib on the Affin Bank Group’s business in Sarawak.
Taib also received a courtesy call from a delegation led by the outgoing Director of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Cawangan Sarawak (DBP), Dr Hazami Jahari.
The purpose of the visit was to inform Taib about Hazami’s promotion as the Director of the Department of Language and Literature Construction at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Kuala Lumpur effective April 1, 2018.
The visit was also to invite Taib and his wife to grace Pertandingan Forum Remaja Piala TYT Sarawak, an annual event of DBP, on May 14 this year.
