THE Waterfront Hotel hall lit up as parents, teachers, and young graduates arrived for Tadika Zasa’s much-awaited 39th convocation.
The air was filled with excitement and pride, accompanied by the soft hum of conversations and the occasional burst of children’s laughter.
Beautifully decorated to match this year’s “Back to School” theme, the venue shimmered with balloons and colourful banners.
For Tadika Zasa, this was more than a yearly celebration; it was a testament to decades of nurturing young minds.
This year’s convocation carried even greater significance as October 2025 would mark the preschool’s 40th anniversary, making it the oldest Bumiputera Melanau preschool in Sarawak.
The event kicked off with a heartfelt speech by Salliza Sideni, representing the management team.
Standing proudly at the podium, she reflected on the institution’s journey, from its humble beginnings under its late founder, her own father, Sideni Adam, to becoming a cornerstone of early childhood education in Sarawak.
Adding a unique touch to the occasion was a special alumni family dressed in matching pink uniforms, identical to the preschool’s iconic attire. Their presence brought nostalgia and joy, showcasing the enduring connection between Tadika Zasa and its former students.
The children, clad in their tiny graduation robes and caps, couldn’t contain their excitement. Teachers guided them with gentle encouragement as they prepared for their big moment on stage.
The event itself was packed with delightful performances that highlighted the students’ growth and achievements.
From reciting surahs with confidence to a spirited group performance of nursery rhymes, the children amazed everyone with their talent and charm.
The highlight of the event was, of course, the graduation ceremony. One by one, the little graduates walked up to the stage to receive their certificates, each name met with proud applause from the audience.
Parents watched with teary eyes as their children, once shy and hesitant, now radiated confidence and joy.
The teachers’ hard work and dedication were evident not just in the students’ academic progress but also in the values instilled in them.
The preschool’s unique activities — like the Lan Berambeh camping programme, grocery shopping at Kubah Ria, and the mini hajj course — had created well-rounded individuals ready for the next chapter of their lives.
Tadika Zasa’s success is rooted in the vision of its late founder, who dreamt of a place where children could excel academically while mastering Quranic teachings.
Subsidies from the state government have ensured the continuation of this dream, making quality education accessible to the community.
As the convocation drew to a close, parents and teachers alike reflected on the institution’s legacy.
With its 40th anniversary on the horizon, Tadika Zasa stands as a beacon of hope and excellence, shaping generations of learners who will carry its values into the future.
The event ended with cheers, laughter, and promises of bright tomorrows. Tadika Zasa’s 39th convocation wasn’t just a celebration of the present — it was a bridge connecting its storied past to an even brighter future.
