KUCHING: High school leavers seeking to further their studies can visit Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak’s Open Day this Saturday (Dec 2) to explore the university’s globally-ranked programmes.
They can also attend Yayasan Sarawak’s exclusive talk on scholarships and study loans.
The Open Day will be held from 10am to 4pm at the university campus along Jalan Simpang Tiga and it is open to all.
“At the Open Day, visitors will be able to meet one-on-one with the university’s education counsellors and academics to gain insights into the wide array of courses available at the university – from business to computing, design, engineering, quantity surveying, science, arts, media and education,”it said in a statement.
“Apart from courses, they will also be able to seek advice on many other aspects of higher education, including study pathways, scholarships, industry placements, facilities,accommodation, student life and more,”it added.
As for scholarships and financial aid, visitors will have the chance to explore internal merit scholarships offered by the university at different levels of study in addition to those offered by external providers such as Yayasan Sarawak.
The sessions are exclusive to 15 persons per session on a first come first served basis and online registration at https://bit.ly/ECERegistration is required.
“Once students have decided on their preferred course, they can proceed to apply on the spot at the Open Day. Eligible students applying for admission will receive their Letter of Offer on the same day,”it said.
To facilitate the application process, prospective students are advised to bring along a copy of their Malaysian identification card or certified copy of their passport, as well as academic transcripts and certificates (SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level, A-Level and so on).
