KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus (Swinburne Sarawak) Diploma of Early Childhood Education (ECE) programme brought joy and learning to life at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (Pustaka) today
The successful Tiny Tots 2024 event brought creativity, fun, and educational activities that were designed for children aged three to four, leaving smiles on the faces of children, parents, and siblings alike.
Swinburne Sarawak said that Pustaka was buzzing with excitement as 25 ECE students and three lecturers hosted over 50 participants that showcased the innovative and compassionate approach which defines Swinburne’s ECE programme.
“Tiny Tots 2024 featured storytelling in English and Malay, exciting hands-on activities like balloon picking, colour sorting, hand painting, air clay crafting, and a magical fishing wonderland.
“The day’s highlight was a lively sing-along session of ‘Row Your Boat’ and the beloved ‘Rasa Sayang’, with the children enthusiastically joining in the rhythm and movements.
“Tiny Tots as a partnership between Swinburne Sarawak and Pustaka is now in its second year and continues to thrive, providing invaluable real-world experience for Swinburne’s ECE students,” Swinburne Sarawak said in its press release.
Swinburne Sarawak added that this aspiring educators applied their skills and knowledge of event planning, and emceeing, and held fruitful engagement with the children and their families, classroom knowledge used in a meaningful, community-focused setting
Meanwhile, the Early Childhood Education programme discipline leader, Ting Mee Ling, said that the event is a testament to the innovative spirit and dedication of Swinburne ECE students.
“It embodies our commitment to shaping compassionate educators who are ready to inspire and nurture the next generation” she said.
