Swinburne Sarawak’s open day to provide an opportunity for prospective students and their parents to explore the Australian university’s courses.

KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus will be holding its first open day of the year on Jan 18.

The university in a press statement said the open day, taking place at its Swinburne Sarawak’s campus along Jalan Simpang Tiga from 10 am to 4 pm, would provide an opportunity for prospective students and their parents to explore the Australian university’s courses.

Visitors will be able to engage in personalised consultations with education counsellors and academic experts to learn more about the university’s globally ranked programs, modern facilities, flexible exchange and transfer options, Work Integrated Learning and more.

The university’s counsellors will also be able to directly address any relevant enquiries that students or parents may have.

Prospective students who are uncertain about which course to pursue can take a career personality test, after which the university’s counsellors would be able to provide guidance on courses suited to their interests, strengths and aspirations.

Swinburne Sarawak’s courses span a diverse range of fields, including business, computing, design, engineering, quantity surveying, science, arts as well as media and education.

Beyond courses, students and parents can take advantage of the opportunity to discover the various scholarships and financial aid options available at the university.

These include internal merit scholarships offered by Swinburne Sarawak at different levels of study as well as options offered by external providers.

Yayasan Sarawak officials will also be attending the event, providing consultations on scholarships and financial assistance.

While at the open day, visitors can get a taste of the vibrant student experience at Swinburne Sarawak by connecting with current students and exploring the campus through guided tours.

During these tours, visitors will be able to view the campus’ newly upgraded facilities, including the Borneo Atrium, Student Hub, Student Village and Food Hall.

Meanwhile, the university will be accepting on-the-spot applications at the open day, and ligible students applying for admission will receive their offer letter on the same day.

Prospective students are advised to bring along a copy of their Malaysian identification card or a certified copy of their passport, as well as academic transcripts and certificates (SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level and A-Level).

Swinburne Sarawak’s upcoming intake for its foundation, diploma and degree programmes will commence on March 3.
