KUCHING: The swimming squad is expected to excel and contribute medals to the Sarawak contingent at the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) XXI 2024, scheduled from August 17 to 24.

This is due to the meticulous preparations currently being undertaken by the team for the biennial national competition.

Additionally, the team boasts notable strengths, including the presence of three national backup swimmers: Hii Puong Wei, Kelly Teo Yao, and Jeff Chua Yu Yang.

Chief executive officer of the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC), Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan, is confident that the selected swimmers will perform at their best during this event.

In other words, they are expected to win medals in their respective categories.

He stated this after chairing the Evaluation and Selection Meeting for the Shortlisted Swimmers for SUKMA XXI 2024 at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre this morning.
