Scene of fallen trees at the suspension bridge.

MIRI: The suspension bridge connecting the main trail to the Latak Waterfall and Pantu Trail at Lambir Hills National Park has been temporarily closed.

This was disclosed by Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) yesterday.
Fallen trees caused by heavy rain and strong winds had damaged the suspension bridge, rendering it impassable.

Despite the damage, the Latak Waterfall and Pantu Trail still remain accessible to visitors through alternative routes.

Visitors could for now access the Pantu Trail through the Inoue Trail whereas the Latak Waterfall is accessible through a temporary alternative route recently erected adjacent to the bridge.

Visitors wishing to visit the Latak Waterfall however are kindly reminded to report and check with the Park personnel beforehand as the bridge is deemed impassable after the rain due to fast-rising river water level.

SFC will announce the re-opening of the suspension bridge after the completion of repair works and the bridge deemed safe for the public.
