The metal object that was found on the roof of Rumah Renyam in Sungai Asan Bayu.

SIBU: Another metal object thought to be from China’s Long March 5B rocket was discovered last night at Rumah Renyam, Sungai Asan Bayu here.

A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Bintangor station were despatched to the scene after receiving a call from Lanang police regarding the discovery around 8.50pm.

Upon arriving, the team discovered that the object, which was roughly two inches wide and three inches long, had penetrated the roof and became trapped on a longhouse unit’s wooden beam.

Given that the owner of the unit rarely visited the longhouse because of his work, it is assumed that the object had remained on the roof for a few weeks.

He only discovered the object after realising the roof was leaking when he returned to the longhouse.

The metal object has since been handed over to the police for further investigation.
