MIRI: A 34-year-old man had a surprise Hari Raya visit from an unwanted guest, a one-metre-long cobra, in the bathroom of his house in Jalan Terusan 8 this morning (Apr 23).
It was reported that the man spotted the reptile as he was about to enter the bathroom around 7.30am.
Fearing for his safety, he immediately contacted the Civil Defence Force (APM) Miri for assistance.
A spokesman for APM Miri said a five-member team was promptly dispatched to the scene.
On arrival, the team managed to locate and catch the cobra in the bathroom using special tools.
The cobra, the size of a broomstick, and measuring one metre long, was later released back into its habitat away from the residential area.
