KUCHING: An informative e-invoice workshop designed to equip businesses and individuals with crucial digital invoicing expertise is scheduled to be held on April 13 (Sunday) at the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Batu Kitang Service Centre from 12.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
Organised by SUPP Batu Kitang’s Youth Section, a total of 60 participants is expected to attend the seminar.
Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Lo Khere Chiang said that as businesses move towards a more digital economy, electronic invoicing (e-Invoicing) has become an essential tool for enhancing efficiency, reducing paperwork, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

“This seminar is designed to help business owners, accountants and professionals understand the beneffits and implementation of e-invoicing,” he said.
He said this at a press conference on the upcoming seminar at SUPP Batu Kitang Service Centre here today.
On another note, event organiser Jordan Hu said the seminar is an opportunity for businesses, especially the youth, to learn how to transition into e-invoicing efficiently.

“Understanding this timeline is crucial for businesses to ensure compliance and leverage the benefits of e-invoicing effectively,” he said.
Hu also added that the transition to digital invoicing gives several advantages, including cost savings by eliminating printing and postage costs, faster payment processing, reduced errors through automation, enhanced security, and improved compliance with tax regulations.
“We want to help our local businesses stay ahead in the digital landscape.
“This seminar is our way of supporting entrepreneurs and professionals in adapting to these changes,” he said.
Hu then stated that as of Tuesday (April 2), over 30 participants had registered, and it will remain open until April 12, the day before the event itself.
“We only allow between one to two participants from various companies to attend the seminar, because we want to ensure more companies can benefit from this initiative,” he said.
The seminar will be conducted by James Bong, a certified Train-the-Trainer (TTT) speaker.
He will provide insights into the fundamentals of e-invoicing, legal compliance and practical case studies.
Malaysia’s transition to e-invoicing follows a structured timeline.
Beginning August 1 2024, businesses with an annual turnover exceeding RM100 million must register.
By January 1 2025, businesses earning between RM25 million and RM100 million must comply, followed by those making RM500,000 to RM25 million by July 1, 2025.
By January 2026, e-invoicing will be mandatory for all businesses earning RM500,000 or more yearly.
