KUCHING: Sunway College Kuching has been officially recognised as an Approved Learning and Training Institution (ALTI) by Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera.

This appointment places Sunway College Kuching among a select group of institutions authorised to deliver Yayasan Peneraju’s sponsored professional education programmes, further cementing its role as a key player in the national agenda to elevate bumiputera representation in high-value professions.

The ALTI recognition supports Yayasan Peneraju’s goal to produce 100,000 certified bumiputera professionals by 2030, as recently highlighted in national media.

Under this initiative, Sunway College Kuching will deliver internationally respected accounting programmes such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the ACCA Foundation in Accountancy.

These programmes are structured to cater to both SPM school leavers and diploma or degree holders.

“We are deeply honoured by this recognition from Yayasan Peneraju,” said Sunway College Kuching chief executive officer Owen Voon.

“This partnership signifies more than just institutional recognition—it affirms our shared commitment to nurturing excellence, inclusivity, and upward mobility for bumiputera talents in the field of accountancy.”

As a part of the Sunway Education Group, the Kuching campus benefits from the legacy of Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence, a Platinum Approved Learning Partner of ACCA renowned for producing top-performing affiliates and global prize winners.

“This foundation ensures that students in East Malaysia receive education and training that matches the standards and recognition available at leading institutions nationwide,”he said.

Students selected under the Yayasan Peneraju sponsorship will enjoy not only financial assistance but also professional development opportunities tailored to enhance their career readiness and success.

Intake is now open, and eligible bumiputera students are encouraged to apply early to secure placement under the Yayasan Peneraju programme.

Interested students, parents, and school leavers are invited to learn more about the programmes offered and take the first step toward becoming globally recognised accounting professionals.
