The local club from the Sebangan Village edged past Plan DC with a narrow 1-0 victory in a tense final held at the Kampung Sebangan football field today.

With the triumph, Sukma FC (in blue) walked away with RM5,000 in cash, along with a trophy and commemorative jerseys – a proud reward for their hard-fought campaign.

Runners-up Plan DC (in yellow) didn’t leave empty-handed, earning RM3,000, a trophy and team jerseys as consolation for their impressive tournament run.

Third place went to La Masia, who defeated last season’s defending champions Kembara 11 in a thrilling 3-2 match.

La Masia received RM1,500 in cash, a trophy and jerseys, while Kembara 11 took home RM750 and a trophy for finishing fourth.

Individual brilliance was also celebrated – Kamarulzaman Hamid of Sukma FC was named Player of the Tournament, while Best Goalkeeper honours went to Mohd Tajudin Mohd Ali of Plan DC.

Both standout performers received special awards from the organisers.

The prize-giving ceremony was officiated by Utility and Telecommunication Minister cum Sebuyau assemblyman, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi.

This year’s tournament, which kicked off on the fourth day of Hari Raya, saw the participation of 32 teams representing various clubs and villages across the Sebuyau, Kota Samarahan and Kuching regions – a true celebration of grassroots football and community spirit.

It was a festival of football, a clash of talents, and a showcase of passion – and in the end, Sukma FC stood tall as champions.

Also present at the event was Sebuyau Assistant District Officer, Luis Andria Barieng.
