KUCHING: Michael Jordan, the basketball great who played for the Chicago Bull in the 1990s once said, “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships”.
In the second part of this write-up, team work is the highlighted theme of the interview with Siti, Yume and Fattah.
The trio have the looks, the personality and the talents and they credit their successes to their colleagues.
A packed schedule of work, personal lives and taking time to have fun, they enjoy being a part of the media industry as New Sarawak Tribune interviews them further.
Siti Zawawi
Siti Zawawi, 24, has an astounding Tiktok and social media presence. She performs the latest Tiktok trends as a way to attract social media users, but also to promote awareness of beauty and fashion.
“I find time in the car to update my followers and have fun with Tiktok’s latest trends”, she enthused.
Siti, a host for ‘Sine Siti Makan’, is passionate about all things beauty.
Her passion also landed her the role of producer and TV host of fashion and beauty in ‘Beauty Tips’ and ‘Fashion of the Day.’
She wishes to inspire young and upcoming women who want to be a part of the modelling and TV industries.
Her advice is, “Concentrate on your subject of interest until you succeed in it.
“Confidence is also a key and a relentless perseverance to overcome adversity.”
Siti, who hails from Kuching, says that having the right community as a circle of friendship and encouragement is very important.
Citing her brother and fellow colleague, Fattah as her best support system, Siti said she would always turn to both of them for advice, especially when dealing with hardships.
“They always give me words of encouragement.
“Now, thanks to their advice, from one assignment to another, I get to learn more and improve myself better,” she said.
Besides beauty, Siti also likes to delve into travel-based contents. She revealed that she is currently shooting a travelogue and gets to travel throughout the state.
“I have not explored Sarawak much before and now I’m excited to travel around the state to try local delicacies, interview the people and get to know their lifestyles,” said the 24-year-old lass.
Yume Suryani
Marking her fourth year working with SMG, 33-year-old Yume Suryani is no stranger to both the media and music industry.
Starting her musical journey in 2010 and now working as a TV producer for music-related content, she finds that there is not much of a difference in the shift in the industry, especially when she gets to produce contents about the thing she loves the most, which is music.
On music, the Kuching lass chose bass guitar as her main instrument and enjoys a variety of genres such as fusion jazz, funk, classical, dark pop, Motown, gothic rock and the list goes on and on.
Having a burning passion for the entertainment industry led her to her main mission to promote local talents and music on a national scale.
Yume wishes to explore Nusantara Jazz, a genre which includes the elements of Sarawak’s musical instruments such as Sape and many others, more.
“To me, there are a few bands in Sarawak who seem to have adopted the genre but it is still not yet known to many,” she said.
Currently actively producing and shooting for her own programme called ‘TVS Live’, Yume said this programme is like a mini concert where national level artistes will duet alongside Sarawak’s local artists, adding, “This is to bridge the gap between the national level artistes and our local talents.”
In generating ideas for contents, Yume said she is inspired by watching videos on Youtube and would gather with her team consisting of a team researcher, scriptwriter and others to brainstorm on providing the best music content for the viewers.
Fattah Bolhanuddin
For 24-year-old Fattah, also known as FattahBolh, the COVID-19 pandemic has opened up a big opportunity for the lad to grow in the media industry.
Second month into his internship with TVS under the Marketing Communication department back in 2021, Fattah has proved his worth by being awarded the Viral Award, an award based on employee’s monthly performance through his splendid performance in his show ‘Kelaka Sarawak Juh’.
Coming from an event management background, he is now working as a producer and TV host for several shows, namely, Staycation with Fattah; ‘Sine Tempat Best’ and ‘Cooking Orang Bujang’.
The shift from a marketing intern to a TV producer has seen him actively involved first-hand in producing other TV programmes.
Of all the shows he has produced, Staycation With Fattah is the programme he enjoys producing as he loves to travel.
“Travelling is my hobby apart from dancing and it gives me a peace of mind.
“Looking back at the charts and datas, I’m proud that Staycation with Fattah is part of the top listed TVS programme with high viewership which fuels me to produce more travel based programmes,” he said.
He explains his hobby, and the opportunity given to be a part of the TVS journey with full of passion.
The dedication and enthusiasm to improve his skills and craft in the industry was clearly seen, and the achievements thus far have been admirable and he credits his peers like Siti and the rest of his colleagues for their relentless support and motivation.
Fattah revealed that for the new instalment of Staycation With Fattah, the show will feature his colleague, Siti Zawawi as co-host.
Being relatively new in the media industry, Fattah said he will always compare and observe his hosting skills for areas he can improve.
He thanked TVS former chief executive officer, Suhaimi Sulaiman, for helping to unearth his skills in hosting.
