SIBU: Local Member of Parliament, Oscar Ling Chai Yew’s Service Centre will be organising a subsidised food event, offering 1,000 sets of food baskets, at Bisonte Grocer & Deli on Jalan Kuda here on Saturday from 8.30 am to 11.30 am.
According to Ling, the subsidised goods initiative has been well-received and appreciated by the public as a welfare programme.
“Each food set will be sold at RM30 per set. Each set includes 10kg of white rice, biscuits, 10 eggs, Jiangmen vermicelli, and a can of curry chicken,” he said in a statement yesterday (Mar 20).

He stated that with one coupon, customers can purchase one pack of milk powder, and those buying milk powder worth RM20 and above will receive a RM5 rebate.
Public attendees, he said, must queue for registration before using the coupon to purchase subsidised goods.
“Each household is limited to purchasing one set only. The original price of the subsidised items is RM46.20, but they will be sold for RM30, cash payment only. Buyers will also receive a small gift, but only within the event hours,” Ling added.
