SIBU: The standard operating procedures (SOPs) in Sibu Jaya will be tightened for two weeks from Feb 9 to 23.
The Sibu Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) in a statement on Sunday (Feb 7) said the approach was taken in view of the high number of positive Covid-19 cases recorded in the area.
“Following the high number of positive Covid-19 cases in Sibu Jaya and with the consent of the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), SOPs will be tightened for two weeks from Feb 9 to 23.
“Only two people are allowed in a car and only important businesses are allowed to operate such as eateries, pharmacies, clinics and petrol stations,” said the statement.
Apart from that, it also noted that all schools, including public examination classes, will also be closed.
“All social gatherings are not allowed except for funerals, and Chinese New Year and Chap Goh Mei within subject to their respective SOPs,” it added.
