MIRI: A foreign yacht, French Kiss, was given the kiss of life by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (Maritime Malaysia) after it developed engine trouble and went adrift in waters off Miri on Wednesday (Mar 20).
The yacht, carrying two American citizens, sent out an emergency signal prompting swift action from Maritime Malaysia.

MMEA Miri director Captain Mohd Khairol Anuar Saad said a patrol vessel was immediately dispatched to locate the drifting boat.
“Our patrol team successfully located French Kiss along with its two passengers, who were found safe and unharmed,” he said in a statement today.
The yacht was then escorted safely to Marina Bay Jetty in Miri for further inspection and assistance.
Maritime Malaysia reminded all sea-goers to always carry a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) and wear life jackets when out at sea, as part of essential safety precautions.
The agency also urged the public to report any maritime emergencies via the emergency hotline 999 or contact the Miri Maritime Zone Operations Centre at 085-649111, as well as the Sarawak State Maritime Operations Centre at 082-432544 or 082-432016 for immediate assistance.
