KUCHING: The Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) of Simpang Tiga Kenyalang successfully organised a stress-relieving and refreshing workshop titled Breath, Water, and Sound for 240 primary school students on Friday (Dec 20).
Held from 7.15am to 10am at SJK Chung Hua Primary School No. 5, the workshop specifically targeted the school’s primary four and five students.
According to the press release issued on Dec 24, the workshop aimed to equip students with tools for managing stress more effectively.
“Through interactive activities such as fun body-stretching exercises and specially designed relaxation techniques, students were taught to connect with their body and mind.
“These engaging sessions enabled students to relax naturally while simultaneously improving their focus and concentration,” it said.
Meanwhile, JKKK Kawasan Simpang Tiga Kenyalang chairman Kapitan Tan Cho Yian expressed her thanks to the volunteer teachers of International Association for Human Values (IAHV), the Assistant Principals, and teachers of Chung Hua Primary School No 5 for their concerted efforts in making this meaningful event a success, collaboratively contributing towards community wellbeing.

For the record, the workshop was conducted in collaboration with the IAHV, a sister organisation of the Art of Living Foundation.
The event was led by IAHV volunteer teachers Eilin Loh and Jason Chee, who guided the students through the various stress-relief techniques.
