KUCHING: The Sarawak Stat e Library (Pustaka) in collaboration with CityOne Megamall will host a Storytelling Competition in conjunction with the 61st Independence Day. The programme will be held on 18 August 2018, from 9am until 1pm at Ground Floor, CityOne Megamall here.
The competition is aimed at enhancing language skills through listening, speaking, reading and writing. Among other things, it is also expected to encourage students to generate ideas spontaneously and to convince the audience with their props, pictures and other materials.
This programme would also help in enhancing self-esteem and competitiveness, and to enhance the spirit of independence among the students and the younger generations.
Participation is open to students from primary 4, 5 and 6 (10 – 12 years old). Among the marking criterias are presentation technique, language, interaction with the audience, message and value from the story, and their voice control. Members of the public are encouraged to take part in this storytelling competition.
