SERIAN: A storm swept through Kampung Triboh yesterday evening (Jan 4), tearing roofs off four homes and leaving 21 residents temporarily displaced.

Civil Defence Force (APM) Serian district officer Lt Mackinly Jores said a five-member team was dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 5.52 pm.

Strong winds and heavy downpour, which lasted until 6.45 pm, forced four affected families to seek shelter with relatives.

“Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the residents.

“Despite the damage, no temporary relief centre (PPS) was activated as the families found alternative accommodations,” he said.

Once the area was deemed safe, the team concluded their operation and returned to their station at around 6.50 pm.
