BINTULU: The Sarawak Day 2024 celebration was a resounding success, drawing unexpectedly large crowds and earning rave reviews from participants and the public alike.

State Protocol, Ceremonies and Event Management Unit director Hamdan Sharbini said local residents had wholeheartedly embraced the festivities, held from July 20 to 22.

“The Bintulu community has consistently demonstrated extraordinary support for major events organised by the Sarawak government.

“The dedication and cooperation of all agencies involved were crucial to this year’s successful celebration,” he said at the Post-Mortem Meeting of the Sarawak Day 2024 Celebration Implementation Committee today (July 23).

Despite challenges posed by a severe storm that damaged technical equipment, including the main stage’s LED screen, Hamdan said the organising committee remained steadfast in its commitment to delivering top-notch performances and services.

He expressed gratitude on behalf of Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, the Minister In-Charge of the Sarawak Day 2024 Celebration, to all those who contributed to the event’s success.
