KANOWIT: A storehouse used to keep construction materials at Jalan Lukut Penyulau, was damaged in a fire that broke out inside the premises today (Dec 8).
Firefighters from Kanowit station were promptly dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 10.08 am.
Upon arrival, they found the premises about 30 per cent destroyed and the extinguishing works were performed using water from their fire truck.
The fire was brought under control and overhaul works followed suit to ensure that there is no risk of reignition.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire and losses incurred is still under investigation.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 11.50 am.
