KUCHING: Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) will focus on seven priority areas in its Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) for the next five years.
The areas are licensing, law enforcement, project management, administration (human resources), governance, procurement and programme management.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the plan was one of STIDC’s efforts to improve integrity in public service delivery.
“From the seven priority areas, STIDC has produced seven strategies, 10 strategic objectives and 90 action plans towards making STIDC a corporation with integrity and corruption-free.”
He was speaking at the launching of STIDC’s OACP book here on Thursday (March 4).
Awang Tengah, who is also STIDC chairman, said with the OACP plan, implementation and monitoring of anti-corruption activities and nurturing of integrity values in service delivery system could be carried out effectively and systematically.
“This is also in accordance with STIDC’s efforts towards compliance with Section 17(A) on corporate liability under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act enforced on June 1 last year.
“Under this Act, the head of the department is fully responsible for every behaviour of staff involved in corruption.”
The OACP plan was produced through a three-day workshop facilitated by the State Integrity and Ombudsman Unit from Feb 16 to 18.
Also present were STIDC board members State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion; Assistant International Trade and Industry, Industry Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Naroden Majais; Assistant Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh; Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources permanent secretary Datuk Zaidi Mahdi, and Land and Survey director Abdullah Julaihi, as well as STIDC general manager Hashim Bojet and deputy general manager Haluyah Awi.
