BALINGIAN: The MADANI community here is called to remain vigilant and prudent to safeguard against fraud and avoid being easily swayed by enticing offers on social media.
According to the head of the MADANI Community in Kuala Mas Balingian, Khairunisa Habi Rahman, the public must be more vigilant and not easily enticed by offers that seem too good to be true.
“If you have already fallen victim to scammers, regret will be of no use as the authorities face difficulties in combating this crime,” she said at the JIWA@Komuniti MADANI Sembang Santai Komuniti MADANI Kuala Mas Balingian programme at Masjid Nur Iman, Kampung Kuala Balingian, recently.
Khairunisa advised the public not to panic if they find that money in their accounts has been transferred without authorisation and to avoid sharing their passwords recklessly.
“Immediate action should be taken by contacting the 997 hotline managed by the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) for assistance or by lodging a report with the authorities,” she said.
Balingian Sub-District Information officer, Matsukarmi Suani, who was present at the event, said that the MADANI Community plays a vital role in disseminating accurate and reliable information.
“The accuracy and authenticity of information are crucial in preventing slander, and this is one of the steps to curb the spread of false information.
“This community was established to ensure that society receives correct information regarding government policies and does not fall prey to fake news or propaganda that could disrupt harmony,” he added.
