KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) must remain strong and united to ensure a bright future for Sarawak, says Deputy Premier and PBB deputy president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

He stressed the importance of solidarity and cooperation among party members, adding that unity is the key to overcoming challenges and safeguarding Sarawak’s stability and progress.

“We must move forward together, with the spirit of Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban (Fight to the End).

“We may come from different backgrounds, languages, and cultures, but we share a common dream; harmony, development, and prosperity,” he asserted.

He said this in his speech during the closing ceremony of the party’s 16th Triennial General Meeting at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Sunday (Feb 16).

Awang Tengah stressed that PBB was built on the pillars of struggle, sacrifice, and service to the people.

Through various trials, he noted that the party has remained steadfast in its mission to strengthen Sarawak and improve the well-being of its people.

He also stressed the significance of the party’s constitutional amendment establishing the presidential council, which he said would further reinforce cooperation and understanding within PBB.

“Our fight is to ensure that our party remains strong, that Sarawak continues to be stable, developed, and prosperous.

“We must always strive to serve the people better than we did yesterday and aim for even greater achievements tomorrow,” he added.

Dismissing empty rhetoric, Awang Tengah reaffirmed PBB’s commitment to meaningful action and service to Sarawakians.

“We are here not to make empty promises. We are here to strengthen our vision and commitment to the struggle.

“We are here to serve the rakyat. We will  fight for every Sarawakian, defend our right and uphold every principle that has guided us from the beginning,” he said.

Also present were Deputy Prime Minister and PBB senior vice president Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof; Deputy Premier and PBB deputy president Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas; PBB president and Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg; Commodity and Regional Development Minister, and PBB senior vice president Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom; PBB permanent chairman and Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar; and former PBB Youth chief who is the Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh.
