KUCHING: The State Library inked two memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and one memorandum of agreement (MOA) in its seminar room here on Monday (Dec 14).

The two MOUs are collaborative works with University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS) and Association of Research and Development Movement of Singai Sarawak (Redeems).

According to its chief executive officer Dr Rashidah Bolhassan, the MOUs and MOA aim to accomplish its clients’ objectives according to its particular interests.

“The MOU with UCTS would involve the acquisition of library materials, information retrieval service, inter library loan and documentation delivery services, digitisation, training and usage of our services.

“As for the MOU with Redeems, it contains community-based projects which touch on the expansion and upgrading of the centre into a full-fledged library.

“Through this collaboration, it also aims to establish a community library at the centre,” she added.

On the MOA with the Land and Survey Department, Rashidah said the State Library will provide its services on the preservation and conservation of the department’s transferred records to state repository service.
