SRI AMAN: Simanggang town will be the center stage on September 16 as it hosts the Sarawak-level Malaysia Day 2024 celebrations.
Known for its historic Sri Aman Declaration of 1973, which marked a peace agreement, Sri Aman Division is now fully prepared to celebrate this significant event.
The festivities will kick off on September 14 with a Thanksgiving Ceremony at the Dewan Suarah Sri Aman. Later in the afternoon, the celebration will continue with the ‘Konsert Rakyat’ at the Sri Aman Riverbank, featuring performances by local celebrities, cultural shows, and a grand fireworks display.
On September 15, another Thanksgiving Ceremony will be held at Masjid Bandar Sri Aman.
The event will be attended by Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, along with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, and his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang.
The highlight of the celebration is the Sarawak-level Malaysia Day assembly, which will take place on September 16 at the Sri Aman Sports Complex Indoor Stadium.
The event will also be graced by the Governor and Premier, along with their spouses.
