KUCHING: The 2022 Keluarga Malaysia Merdeka Convoy (KMKM2022) for Sarawak state level began its tour at kilometre 0.0 (Km0.0) at Telok Melano yesterday, on Tuesday.
The programme started as early as 8.30am in and around Kampung Telok Melano with the dissemination of information on National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) 2022 accompanied by patriotic songs.
Some 20 vehicles made up the KMKM2022 convoy of the Information Department (JaPEN) Sarawak, Lundu District Council, Lundu enforcement agencies, Keluarga Malaysia community from Telok Melano joined together to participate at the first location.
The programme then proceeded with the handover of the Jalur Gemilang by the director of JaPEN Sarawak Jaafar Jantan to the chief of Telok Melano area Penghulu Jumahdi Sabian, head of Keluarga Malaysia Community (KKM) Kampung Seketi Cina Lim Ted Hong, Kampung Telok Melano village chief Amezan Abdul Hassan and Kampung Telok Serabang village chief Mohamed Bakar Karim, followed by hoisting of the Malaysian flag at Km0.0 before the flagging of of the KMKM2022 convoy.
