KOTA SAMARAHAN: A total of 59 representatives from various associations and clubs received grants amounting to RM220,000 from Stakan assemblyman Datuk Hamzah Ibrahim on Sunday (Aug 27).
He said the grant is expected to help the clubs and associations under the Stakan constituency.
“Hopefully, with this assistance, the recipients will be able to implement programmes and ensure their associations or clubs are more proactive.
“It is one of our efforts to help associations or clubs in their respective areas to implement programmes,” he said to reporters after the grant presentation at Kota Samarahan Civic Centre.
There was also a symbolic handing over of the Takaful Sakinah insurance certificates to about 2,400 residents residing in the constituency.
Hamzah stressed that the scheme was not only available to the bumiputera community but also to the Chinese community.
The ceremony also witnessed the handing over of a donation cheque by the Unit For Other Religions (UNIFOR) to St.Matthias’ Chapel, Kampung Merdang Limau and St James’ Parish, Quop, Kampung Quop.
