KUCHING: Rumah Seri Kenangan and Home of Peace held a heartwarming community service programme in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebration on Thursday (Apr 3).
The programme aimed to bring joy and happiness to the elderly residents, celebrating the festive season with warmth and compassion.
Headmistress Tay Kok Ing, accompanied by a group of dedicated teachers and parents, visited both homes bearing gift bags and duit raya (festive money packets).
Organised under the theme ‘We Love, We Care’, the initiative sought to celebrate life with the elderly and promote a spirit of giving during Hari Raya.
It formed part of an outreach effort to show love and appreciation to senior citizens.
The highlight of the event was the distribution of goodies and monetary gifts to the residents of both homes.
In addition, the elderly were treated to a hearty lunch, making the day even more memorable.
Tay expressed her heartfelt thanks to Pau Sarawak for sponsoring the event and also extended her gratitude to the parents whose generous contributions made the visit possible.
The Malaysian Red Crescent, Stampin Branch, also lent its support, with Wendy Tan, Chairman of Blood and Organ Donation, playing a key role in the effort.
