TANJUNG MANIS: The spirit of unity is a critical element that determines the effectiveness and success of a party.

In stating this, Tanjung Manis MP Yusuf Abdul Wahab said that internal conflicts would only weaken the party and affect the party’s credibility in the eyes of the people.

“Unity enhances the strength of the party where unity ensures that all members are united in achieving common goals, making the party stronger and not easily divided to face all external political challenges and internal conflicts.

“If we are united, all differences of opinion can be resolved harmoniously and avoid detrimental divisions,” he said.

He said this during the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Semop triennial general meeting here recently.

Yusuf further said members of the public who are not party members would be more inclined to trust and support a united and stable party as it showed their ability to govern well.

If there was a split in the party, he said, it would give a negative image and could cause the party to lose support at the lower levels.
