SARIKEI: Tanjong Manis MP Yusuf Abdul Wahab, will mobilise a special team to assist rural residents, especially in his constituency, to facilitate the registration and updating of applications for the Sumbangan Asas Keperluan Sarawak (SKAS).

He urged the public not to rush, as the registration period for SKAS is long and sufficient for all eligible individuals.

“The SKAS initiative is a noble effort by the Sarawak government to support those in need, with various forms of assistance provided,” he said during the Kemas Tabika and Taska appreciation ceremony for the Sarikei Tanjong Manis Zone on Tuesday (Jan 7).

The event was held to celebrate the achievements of Kemas Tabika and Taska students who have completed their early education phase before transitioning to primary school.

On another note, Yusuf expressed his gratitude to Kemas educators for their dedication in guiding children through early education.

“This is not an easy task. It requires patience, commitment, and dedication to guide young children with their varying behaviour.

“I deeply appreciate the efforts of Kemas teachers in ensuring these children receive a strong foundation in education,” he said.
