SIBURAN: A special association known as Persatuan Angkatan Belia Sarawak is in the works specifically for youth development in the Puncak Borneo constituency.
“We will start with Mambong first, as the test bed.
“And if it is a success, we will model it and organise more training and provide more exposure to these youths,” said Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.
When asked how similar it is to Pertubuhan Belia Kebangsaan Bersatu Sarawak or Saberkas, he said the objective of the new association was to concentrate on how to the actual needs of the young people.
“These young people need guidance and we are there to provide it so that there is a clear path for them in terms of career.”
He said this when officiating at the flag-off of the Mambong youth tour convoy at Kampung Duuh, Siburan on yesterday (Nov 18).
The Deputy Minister for Transport added that youths should also be disciplined as he wanted them to be wholesome in every aspect.
“What we have planned in the beginning is already happening, so they know our aspirations, which is not only to develop the youths, but also they are aware of the things happening in their area.”
