Snatch thief escapes with woman’s personal documents, cash, phone, keys

KUCHING : A 36-year-old woman lost her personal documents, RM500 cash, handphone, house keys, office keys and a pendrive to a male snatch thief at Jalan Ahmad Zaidi Adruce here last Sunday morning.

The women said she had just arrived at a eatery  at 11.30 am when suddenly, a motorcyclist came, opened one of her car doors at the back and grabbed her handbag.

In a separate case, on Saturday, a 45-year-old woman from Kota Samarahan was working in a shop when she saw a man leaving the back door of a supermall carrying five pairs of shoes at about 5.55pm.

From the  CCTV footage,  she found the thief had an accomplice and they left on a motorcycle. Losses were estimated at RM435.50.

Meanwhile, at Kampung Astana, a self-employed man reported that on Sunday, his television and mobile phone were stolen after his house was broken into. He said he woke up in the morning to find that  thieves had broken into the house using the back door.

Police are investigating the cases.
