MIRI: A total of 200 students will gather at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Telang Usan in Marudi for an immersive leadership experience from April 9-12.
The youth leadership programme is organised by the Rotary Club of Miri in collaboration with the Rotary International District 3310 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Committee and Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri.
RYLA is a globally recognised leadership development programme aimed at empowering young people through workshops, talks and team-based activities.
Organised and funded by local Rotary clubs and Rotary International District 3310, the event is designed to help participants build essential leadership and communication skills, solve problems collaboratively, and gain inspiration from experienced mentors.
Among the highlights of the programme are sessions led by community leaders, inspirational speakers, and industry professionals.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with speakers from Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri; Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) Miri; Marudi District Police Headquarters; Rakan Muda; Rotary International District 3310; and the Rotary Club of Miri.
The initiative is also supported by Baram Member of Parliament Dato Anyi Ngau and Borneo Biscuit Factory Sdn Bhd.
